Why Co-Writing Works So Well! (Trust me, been there, done that!)

Hi Reader,

For a long time, I wrote all of my songs on my own. When I first started writing as a teenager, it was difficult for me to share my songs with anyone—except for my guitar teacher, who not only taught me how to write songs but was also my biggest cheerleader. My songs were so personal that sharing them felt like revealing a page from my diary. I had to build up the courage to even play them for those closest to me. I remember starting and stopping a song a few times before I could make it all the way through!

When I began studying songwriting at Berklee College of Music, I quickly realized that others were experiencing many of the same challenges that I was often writing about and could easily relate to them. I often wrote songs about relationship struggles, friendships, and the loss of loved ones—topics that I’m sure you can relate to as well, since they’re all part of the human experience. Over time, as I shared my songs more frequently it became easier for me to perform them in front of people. I also found it to be a meaningful way to connect with others.

It wasn’t until much later in life that I discovered co-writing inside of celebrity vocal coach Cari Cole’s Signature Songwriting Circle, after winning a partial scholarship seat for my song 'Addiction.' That experience taught me about the value of co-writing and how other songwriters can offer fresh perspectives while connecting with the song in their own unique way.

I’ll be releasing these songs soon as part of my upcoming artist Patreon launch, but for now, I invite you to take a sneak peek by clicking here. These song demos are recorded by my co-writers, who are industry-vetted songwriters. They also taught me how important songwriting technique is in order to tell your story in the most impactful way!

When you’re ready to write your next song (or your first one), I hope you’ll consider giving co-writing a try! You can book a complimentary 20-minute online mini-session with me by clicking the button below. I’d be honored to show you just how fun—and healing—it can be!

To your continued happiness and success,
