Are You Ready to be the Star of Your Own Movie? (And step into it by writing your next level song?!)

Hi Reader,

This week let's dive into creating a song topic and lyric writing. I’m also curious to know if you’ve ever written a song before or if you’ve written a lot of them?! I’d love for you to reply to this message and let me know where you’re at on your songwriting journey!

There’s truly so much you can learn about songwriting technique over time in order to best support your song’s story and message. However, when you're just thinking about writing a song, you can start by thinking about the character that you’ll be writing about, the setting or location the story is taking place in, and the context and overall theme. When I studied with personal development coach, Danielle Amos, one of Bob Proctor’s top proteges, she encouraged me to think about what it would be like to be the star of my own movie.

So I’d like to invite you to think about this too in writing your next (or first) song. For example, how do you see yourself as the star of your own movie? What are you wearing, what are you thinking about, who are you interacting with, and how are you living your day to day life? Then go ahead and set the stage by thinking about your location and the sights and sounds around you… For example, are you living in a tropical location or in the mountains? Perhaps you’re living in a beautiful, modern day beach house right next to the ocean. (This is where my movie star lives)!

Try your best to set the scene of your song by describing all of these things in detail. You can even begin by journaling about your movie and then reflect on your writing to create the lyrics to your song. Once you have your setting and details outlined, go ahead and share that information in your verses (I'd suggest keeping it to two verses to start), and then share the overarching theme of your story in your chorus.

If you’re having fun (or trouble) with this exercise go ahead and click on the button below to schedule your free one-on-one online mini-session with me today, and together we can create your life's soundtrack to help you step into your next level self!🤩

To your continued happiness and success,

And the fact that our subconscious mind controls 90-95% of our thoughts and behaviors, means that we need to build our awareness in order to respond consciously. Weekly Newsletter 3.13.25 Why Co-Writing Works So Well! (Trust me, been there, done that!) Hi Reader, For a long time, I wrote all of my songs on my own. When I first started writing as a teenager, it was difficult for me to share my songs with anyone—except for my guitar teacher, who not only taught me how to write songs but was also my biggest cheerleader. My songs were so personal that sharing them felt like revealing a page from my diary. I had to build up the courage to even play them...

Weekly Newsletter 3.6.25 Why Sound is Healing (And how you can heal yourself by singing!) Hi Reader, This week, let’s talk more about sound frequencies and why they are healing! Did you know that humans with normal hearing can hear sounds between 20 and 20,000 hertz? Typically lower frequencies below 20-30 hertz are cut on most albums, however, those lower frequencies have been scientifically proven to have huge benefits to the body. They most often help with chronic inflammation and vagus...
