    Andrea of Brite Lite Brite

    Live at Lollapalooza

    Who am I?

Hi, I’m Andrea, and I’ll be your guide on this musical journey of reflection, discovery, and healing. As a professional singer/songwriter for nearly two decades with the electronic duo Brite Lite Brite. I’ve always turned to songwriting as a way to process and transform my life experiences—both the beautiful and the painful. Through music, I’ve found a way to heal, and I’d love to help you do the same.

My songs are personal stories set to melody: the grief of losing my grandmother in Sky Turns Red, which won the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (Electronic Category), the hope of finding new love in Now That You’re Around, the ache of not quite fitting in with Radioactive Love, and the loving remembrance of a friend gone too soon in He Still Lives with Us. These songs have not only received recognition as semi-finalists in the International Songwriting Competition, but they’ve also created deep connections with listeners going through their own emotional journeys.

My original music has taken me to stages alongside major label artists like M.I.A., Joan Jett, Ludacris, Mumford & Sons, The Cure, and Nine Inch Nails, including festival performances at Virgin Mobile Fest and Lollapalooza. The opportunity to play on Perry’s Stage at Lollapalooza came directly from the impact of my song I Lost My Heart Tonight, a raw and honest reflection on heartbreak.

I hold a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music (2004) and a Master of Arts in Expressive Therapies from Lesley University (2011). Most recently, I completed my Sound Healing Practitioner Certification (2024) with Shannon Brown Healing Arts. I’m the founder of The Next Octave, an online space where music and sound become tools for personal growth and emotional release.

Whether you’re new to songwriting or returning to your voice, I’m here to help you access your story, your truth, and your healing through music.

Feeling stuck with all the “traditional” forms of therapy?

    • You’re not alone. While talk therapy and other conventional methods work for some, they’re not the only way to heal—and they’re certainly not the only way to feel again.
    • The truth is, using the arts for healing is as old as humanity itself. Long before we had modern labels or clinical diagnoses, we had rhythm. We had melody. We had stories sung around fires, emotions carried through voice and sound.
    • In today’s fast-paced, distraction-heavy world, we’ve forgotten how powerful this kind of expression can be. But it’s still within you—and songwriting can help you reconnect.
    • Music affects us emotionally and physically, with both immediate and lasting benefits. Whether you're looking to reflect, express, or simply feel more like you again, songwriting can help.
    • Songwriting is a natural, intuitive outlet for healing. You don’t need years of musical training or professional experience—just a willingness to explore your story through sound. This creative, non-linear process allows you to gently access your unconscious mind, uncover buried emotions, and begin releasing what no longer serves you.
